I’m a botanist interested in how plant communities change over time and across spatial scales. In my work, I combine historical sources, such as herbarium specimens, published floras, and vegetation surveys, with modern field and occurrence data.

I also teach Botany for Horticulturists at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and serve as President of the Torrey Botanical Society.
